About Me
“Birth is not only about making babies. Birth is about making mothers – strong, competent, capable mothers who trust themselves and know their inner strength.” ~ Barbara Katz Rothman
A Little About Me

Walking Beside You Through Birth, Recovery & Beyond
Bringing a new life into the world is beautiful, but it can also be overwhelming, emotional, and full of questions. I’m here to make that journey gentler, more confident, and filled with the support you truly deserve.
I’m a certified birth and postnatal doula based near Seaham, County Durham, and a qualified Breastfeeding Counsellor working towards IBCLC certification. My mission is simple: to empower, nurture, and guide you from pregnancy through to natural term weaning.
Whether you’re preparing for birth, navigating those first newborn days, or overcoming breastfeeding challenges, I combine expertise with genuine care to empower your motherhood so that you can say “I’ve got this!”.
My Story & Why I Became a Doula and Breastfeeding Expert
Becoming a mother changed everything for me. Not really in my day to day life as I am a bit of a social hermit, but because I found my passion for this line of work through my own breastfeeding journey with my little one, who as of writing is nearing 18 months and showing no signs of stopping!
Like many new mums, I realised how vital it is to have someone who listens without judgment and offers consistent support at every stage. Continuity is lacking in the perinatal space, and I hope to be a familiar face for you from pregnancy until weaning. My own motherhood journey and extended breastfeeding experience has deepened my commitment to supporting families just like yours.

What It’s Like to Work With Me
My role is part knowledge, part comfort, and part “let’s make this easier.” I have completed extensive training as a Breastfeeding Counsellor and also volunteer with the NHS at local Family Hubs in County Durham. I have hundreds of hours of face-to-face experience and have supported a wide range of breastfeeding challenges.
I guarantee to bring warmth, supportive energy and consistent guidance to our sessions, whether it’s a one-off Newborn Fine Tuning appointment or a series of focussed support to increase supply. All my services come with WhatsApp support so that any of those questions that pop into your head once I’ve left can be asked and answered at your leisure. Baby brain or not, no question is too silly and you will always feel supported whilst we navigate your breastfeeding journey.
Expertise You Can Trust
Because I’m working towards IBCLC certification, you can feel confident that the guidance you receive is grounded in the latest research and practical experience.
I spend the vast majority of my free time (albeit quite limited whilst weaving through toddlerhood) reading up on the latest studies and I am currently studying 14 science modules accredited by the Complimentary Medical Association as part of the IBCLC pathway. These include child psychology, nutrition and anatomy & physiology, so that I can provide a service that looks at you and your baby as a whole, rather than isolating your breastfeeding concern without exploring all bases.
My holistic approach means that no leaf goes unturned to ensure you are your healthiest, both physically and mentally, to nurture your baby.
My Philosophy & Values
- Evidence-based, not one-size-fits-all — every family is different, with different values, cultures and beliefs, and your plan should be curated around you.
- Empowerment through education — informed choices and understanding natural, biological needs in newborns make for calmer, more confident parents.
- Gentle, responsive parenting — promoting bonding, recognising cues and responding to needs all promote baby’s long-term health.
- Whole-family care — supporting partners and siblings, so that they have the tools and knowledge in place to support you fully.
- Centre-stage mindset with you in the spotlight — You are at the centre of your pregnancy, birth and postnatal days – no matter how far into motherhood you are.
